LADY!

About the Film

Dementia, often seen as an “old-person’s disease,” now affects younger Singaporeans, some in their late 30s. Gary, who is among this growing group of persons with young-onset dementia, struggled with daily tasks amid declining health. This short documentary shares Siti’s and Gary’s moving story, highlighting a young caregiver’s emotional journey. Despite challenges, Siti faces the world with resilience, humour, and grace, a truly admirable feat despite the cards she has been dealt.

In “Lady!”, Tan Pei Lin explores universal themes of identity, love, family, and loss, creating a space for difficult conversations about death. It tells a poignant story about a strong will and love that persists beyond the end of life.
