ABOUT
This workshop will introduce participants to the power and importance of playfulness for wellbeing and learning. Through creating, playing and moving they will experience the hands on magic of playfulness. Then through the framework of the Developmental Play Pyramid they will be introduced to how play works, how it changes neurobiology and promotes and supports wellbeing through pre-verbal expression and exploration.

WHY JOIN THIS WORKSHOP
This workshop will increase emotional and mental resiliency by:
1. Making participants aware of the importance of movement, and sensory body awareness in the management of our mental health
2. Raising awareness and understanding of pre-verbal ways to express and transform emotions
3. Helping participants understand how their brain is wired for emotional expression and what they can do to promote wellbeing through playfulness.
ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
Caroline Essame is the CEO of the social enterprise CreateCATT and founder of Developmental Play, a new approach to pre-verbal creative work. She pioneered the first Masters in Art Therapy in Asia for LASALLE College of the Arts as well as the new Expressive Arts Therapy Post Graduate Diploma at Singapore University of Social Sciences. Trained in arts and play therapy and occupational therapy, she has a Master’s degree in education specializing in creative learning and over 35 years’ experience in the health, welfare and education sector with a focus on creativity, play and social and emotional wellbeing. A consultant senior clinician in Singapore working with children she is an award-winning adult educator at the Social Services Institute, lectures at Singapore University of Social Sciences, as well as being an international trainer and published author.
