CONNECTIONS & CATHARSIS

ABOUT

Writing is a common form of self-expression that can be powerfully used for personal wellbeing. This workshop is about using journaling as a practical self-care tool. Based on the principles of expressive writing, participants can expect to experience fun but powerful moments during the one-hour session as they are guided through a mix of writing exercises designed to make room for personal reflection, catharsis, emotional awareness, and resilience.

WHAT TO BRING

A pen and a highlighter (optional), or a different coloured pens.

WHY JOIN THIS WORKSHOP

Journalling creates a much-needed mental “breathing space” in our fast-paced society, more so in the climate of a global pandemic. This process of putting pen to paper, facilitated by writing prompts, is a simple yet practical way to slow down, reflect, and connect with one’s thoughts and emotions.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR

Nicole Kay is a mental health advocate by day and writer by night. She is the founder and editor of The Tapestry Project SG, which is a ground-up initiative that champions first-person narratives of people and professionals touched by mental health struggles.
